Treasury, within the purview of the CFO and Treasurer, stewards VUMC's working capital. VUMC manages its working capital portfolio within a liquidity framework in support of cash flow needs.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center Banking Relationships

The Bank of New York Mellon (Mellon)-VUMC uses Mellon for lockbox and electronic funds transfer services as well as foreign currency transactions.

SunTrust-Point of sale transactions are domiciled at SunTrust bank as well as all check payments.

US Bank-Generally VUMC subsidiaries use US Bank for their treasury service needs.

Establishing New Bank Accounts

Opening or closing a VUMC bank account requires the authorization of two of the following: The President & CEO, CFO & Treasurer, Vice President Financial Planning, Budgeting & Analysis, Vice President Controller and the Director of Treasury. If a new bank account needs to be established, please first notify the Director of Treasury, Alaine Zachary, or the Treasury Operations Manager, Joseph Kemble.

The use of PayPal accounts to receive money for medical center purposes is not permitted. This is considered a banking relationship and, authority to establish banking relationships is limited to the aforementioned individuals.
