Supply Chain: Administration

About Us:

Supply chain, in today’s healthcare market, has to play an integral role in both the patient experience as well as the overall performance of the organization and must evolve from the traditional role of just purchasing, receiving and stocking inventory. At Vanderbilt University Medical Center the supply chain team has worked to position itself as a leader in the industry through taking a comprehensive and clinically engaged approach in the way team members work to bring drive value and quality for our patients and our customers. The supply chain at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is comprised of four key teams who function through a centralized model to manage assets, products, cash flow and data. Those teams include: medical sourcing, logistics & distribution, systems/purchasing/disbursement services and support services. The entire procure to pay cycle resides under the leadership of supply chain at VUMC which allows for alignment of goals. In addition, VUMC offers external programs to bring value to other organizations through our purchasing collaborative and supply chain services team with the goal of being able to further drive value through aggregation of spend volume or consolidation of services.
