Mission Statement

The Financial Systems Project Management Office helps VUMC Finance customers select, implement, upgrade, and enhance enterprise administrative software solutions; implements efficient and effective processes and procedures that support optimal resource allocation; provides department-wide coordination of IT projects; and ensures that IT resources are deployed on initiatives that create the most benefit for finance functions.

The team also manages departmental financial systems, including DMS and Center Management.

The Project Management Office functions and responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a liaison with MCIT (Medical Center Information Technology) for VUMC Finance, managing requests for enterprise administrative software, upgrades or enhancements to administrative systems, as well as infrastructure to support enterprise operations, such as servers and databases
  • Assisting VUMC Finance customers complete functional and technical requirements for enterprise administrative software projects
  • Providing project management for enterprise administrative software implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Transitioning systems to functional owners and providing best practices for system stewardship
  • Managing departmental financial applications, Center Management and the Departmental Management System (DMS).
